Now if you’re family is anything like mine, then bacon is always a great choice. So Sweet and Spicy Chicken Bacon Wraps is sure to be a hit tomorrow at your family function. The prep time for this app is 25 minutes and it takes 35 minutes to cook them which in total is 1 hour before they start disappearing. This particular recipe can serve up to 15 and all you need is skinless boneless chicken breasts, bacon, dark brown sugar, chili powder and cumin. For instructions on how to prepare, click here.

Side Dishes

Now the key to a thanksgiving dinner is not the turkey at all. It’s all about the side pieces to go with it. If you don’t have good side dishes, you may be in trouble. Now my mother has always taught me one cardinal rule when it comes to eating: Make sure you have something green on your plate. With that said, this classic side dish is sure to be at most people’s tables but I found a great recipe to set them apart from the rest. Southern Style Green Beans with the fan favorite: bacon. Now all you need is of course green beans, bacon, chicken broth, water, and your seasonings: seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and butter. This recipe serves 6 but you can always make a portion to fit your thanksgiving party. For instructions on how to prepare it, click here.

Next up is one of my favorite side dishes: Creamed Corn! The Slow Cooker Creamed Corn recipe I picked out is quick and delicious and it sure beats the store bought can kind. It only takes 10 minutes to prep, and a little over 3 hours to cook. It gives you time to start preparing something else in the meantime. The ingredients you will need is 3 cans of kernel corn, 1 cup of milk, a tablespoon of sugar, teaspoon of pepper, 8 ounces of cream cheese, and 1 stick of unsalted butter. Now it’s time for the starches which brings me to my next side dish, Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes. Are you seeing a pattern? I love crockpot recipes. It makes life so much easier. Now the prep time for this is 10 minutes with a cook time of 4 hours. All you need is 2 pounds of red potatoes, 1/2 cup of sour cream or plain greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of minced garlic and salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. This recipe sure does beat the potatoes in a box. For instructions on how to prepare it, click here.

Last but certainly never least, you always need a good piece of bread to tie things all together. So what better than Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. These babies might just give the rolls at O’Charleys a run for their money. The prep time is 4 hours and the cook time is 25 minutes. Yes I know that’s quite extensive but trust me, the wait is worth every bite. This recipe can serve up to 15 people and all you need is 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1/4 cup of buttermilk, 3/4 cup of pineapple juice, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of coconut extract, 3¾ cups – 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 packet or 2¼ teaspoon of instant yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt, ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger, 2 eggs + 1 yolk, room temperature, and 1 egg for egg wash. What an ingredient list but trust me, it will be a hit for the masses! For instructions on this recipe, click here.

Everyone needs a little bubbly bubbly to wash down all that good grub. Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria is a perfect choice to spice up the thanksgiving party. You’re going to need 2 apples, 1/2 cup of cognac, 2 cups of apple cider, 750ml bottle of cava, and 1/4 cup of pomegranate seed. This drink recipe serves 8 people and if you want to try it a non-alcholic version just remove the cognac and replace it with seltzer water or club soda. Click here to try both versions.

01-AmberRush-9

You need something just a tad bit stronger, I got you covered with the Amber Rush Cocktail. For the Spiced Honey Syrup you’re going to need: 1/2 cup clover honey, 1/2 cup water, 3 whole star anise, 1/2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced into coins (4 to 5 slices), 1 strip of orange peel, removed with a peeler (no pith). For the cocktail you’ll need 12 ounces rye whiskey (1 1/2 cups), 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice, 6 dashes of orange bitters, 6 strips of lemon peel (taken from 1 to 2 lemons), removed with a peeler (no pith), and 6 strips of orange peel (taken from 1 orange), removed with a peeler (no pith). Now if you want to spice it up you can add a splash of ginger beer at the end or alternate lemon and orange peel garnishes in the glasses if you’re serving on a tray or place them in a pitcher. Either way you slice it, you and your loved ones will enjoy it.

Desserts
